DVD news
"300" on HD-DVD.
From a review that I found at GB.net:
The upcoming HD DVD for 300 – which will have this amazing extra feature that has Zack talking you through the making of the entire film, but with a screen that’s showing you all the actual footage shot by the camera that actually captured it. So you can see – exactly what he and the artists behind the film did. For example – how many guys were actually pushed off that cliff… how many horses actually charged at them. Where the physical sets end and the virtual sets begin. Now this is a title that will hit BLU-RAY and HD DVD, but this feature won’t be on the BLU RAY version because – the BLU-RAY machines were not designed with this feature in mind, whereas Warner and oddly, Disney did work with the HD DVD folks to create a player that could take advantage of some pretty crazy features that can happen as the film is playing, to take you beyond just a commentary.

"300" again!
Best Fight!
Found some great pics of Gerry at the show, before the show and after he won at JustJared - be my friend, Jared! ;)
Other "news" I've found of Gerry at MTV:
Andy Signore, director of Best Spoof winner "United 300," was caught handing Gerard Butler his business card, and asking that his short film be included on the "300" DVD. Butler made a big show about refusing his request, camping it up theatrically. As the nervous filmmaker buckled, Butler broke into a big smile and shook his hand, saying he enjoyed the short film. ...
On the red carpet, "300" director Zack Snyder was giving interviews when he was suddenly approached by a fellow nominee who shared his love for swords and sandals: Signore. "Hi Zack, I'm Andy Signore, director of 'United 300'," said the aspiring filmmaker. After a beat, Snyder's face lit up. "Dude, your movie is hilarious. Somebody I know forwarded it to me, and I couldn't stop laughing." After a minute more of conversation, the starstruck young filmmaker made the slickest of all red carpet moves: His shaky hand slipped Snyder a business card. ...
That house announcer wasn't kidding: The guards at the venue wouldn't even let daunting "300" star Gerard Butler back in after he (presumably) ducked out for a bathroom visit. He used the time to talk with fans and pose for pictures. ...
After winning his Best Fight award, Gerard Butler became arguably the most popular photo-op for the stars. Backstage during the show, "Stomp the Yard" star Columbus Short pushed his way across the crowded green room party to get his chance to meet King Leonidas. "Man, I've got to get a picture with you," Short insisted, handing his camera to a friend nearby. Butler, all smiles, put his arm around the young actor, who added: "I'm a huge fan of '300,' man." ...
The best celebrity-sighting spot of the entire night may have been the limo line out back of the Gibson Amphitheatre. ... As a wrangler barked out celebrity names through a bullhorn, Justin Long screamed back, "Gerard Butler? Yeah, that's me!";

So, I'm glad I found this PG version of the movie.

A great, campy video about those wonderful men of 300. This song has been stuck in my head since Monday....then again, so has the imagery of the movie. :)
There's also a longer version of it.

more 300
Again, another article taking "300" way too seriously.
On another note, Victor Davis Hanson, the guy who wrote the foreward for the "300: the Art of the Film" book talks about the historical accuracy of the movie.
