Black Friday
Whoa...spent way too much moolah on Friday. Haha! I had promised myself that I'd take it easy - yeah right!
Let's see, I had been browsing the Black Friday ads for the past month. However, actually having them in my hands on Thursday morning (got up early to go buy the paper) was so much better. :) I sat on the living room floor and scoured them all once. After all the turkey and side dish goodness (and after watching "Casino Royale" with the family), I went over the ads once more that night. Got out my little notebook, jotted down names and prices for each store in the order that I was going to hit 'em. (Target, K-mart, Staples, Wal-mart, Mervyns, mall) I looked for all my old gift cards that have been collecting dust all year, got those coupons I get in the mail, I was set! :)
Woke me and the kid up around 3:30 am, dressed warmly, took off to wait in line at Target. The kid stayed warm in the car (she was coughing a bunch). Typical abuse of the line/honor system; don't know when these stores are going to get a clue and get better organized. Sheesh! There
was such a mad crush at the doors of the people who had waited in line since midnight and those who were hovering near the doors around 5:45. They all got in at the same time. :( I'm glad the kid is old enough to throw some elbows of her own. :)
I got a few of the items I had my heart set on, namely the old skool Atari and the Star Wars Transformers. Sweet!! I missed out on the new $25 "Superman Returns" video game. :( I also didn't get the $8 1GB flash drive, USB hub, or $20 4-pack cordless phones....ummm, didn't get the $5 crock pot at Wal-mart, or the $50 copy of Photoshop Elements from Best
Buy. Can't win 'em all. :)
More Heroes
Another episode of "Heroes" tonight...hope I remember to watch it this
time. LOL I've missed the last 2 or 3 weeks cuz I get home late or
(Aaargh!) forgot about the time change (curse you Yuma channel!!!).
Save the cheerleader, save the world.

Free audiobooks
Librivox uses volunteers to record chapters of all kinds of books that are on the public domain so that anyone can download and listen to these great mp3s for free! I've already downloaded Beowulf, Pride and Prejudice, and the book of Genesis. Great clean and clear sounding voices.
There's even a link to the library that you can subscribe to at iTunes.
I think some of my favorites are going to be the poetry, especially Shakespeare. :)
If you download any of them, let me know what you think.
