pictures and movies
Wow, it's been two weeks since my last blog. Time sure flew by. Let's see, what's been happening...
Junior high has been going good. Three teachers, not too much homework (yet), but no sports to participate in. They don't have much for 7th graders, so we'll have to rely on weekend rec workshops and PAL for baskteball.
I've been taking lots of pictures with my new little phone.
Here's little Sara, stretching out in her playpen on the day of her baptism, waiting to get all gussied up in her big white dress,
the Bulldogs first football game, to which I had to threaten Pearl with a serious butt whooping in order to get her down there (AND, the game started an hour late because the SD team got lost on the way :D),
and a burnt car (some neighborhood kids saw the car burning, ran into the house and warned the old folks that their car was burning).
Can you believe that I haven't been to the movies in forever?? The last thing I saw was "The Skeleton Key" with Sylvia, but haven't made it to another one yet. Our local mall theater has started this new cool promotion: they will be showing some foreign, independent movie for one week, for the next 10 weeks! I missed out on "Ladies in Lavender" last week, but will NOT miss out on "Murderball" this weekend (read more about it at www.thinkfilmcompany.com/. Other planned movies are "Millions," "Smile," and "A Very Long Engagement."
Gerry news: his latest movie, "Beowulf & Grendel" had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this Wednesday. It got a good reception, but is still looking for a distributor to pick it up. Hopefully, it will be released this spring in theaters.
Gerry starts filming his new movie, Frank Miller's "300" in a few weeks in Canada. Frank Miller created the graphic novel for the movie "Sin City." He's bulking up for the role. :) I bought the graphic novel at Amazon and LOVE the images (remember, I'm still a big ole geek at heart). This is going to be a great movie!! :)

walking...
I started walking last week with a couple of co-workers in the evenings. The weather has changed just enough that the air is fairly pleasant...but for those nasty white flies. We must inhale several hundred of those before we're done. :(

I need a new pair of shoes. I've got a blister on each heel from last night's trek. :( I've worn three different pairs of shoes so far and all of them hurt. I even lost the bottom rubber part off the left shoe while walking. LOL These look nice...
I mentioned to one of the girls that all this walking reminds me of a Stephen King novel, The Long Walk. :) Good easy read - nice and short about ... well, a long walk taken by 100 boys in a contest. A psychological story about relationships and human nature.
